RUSSELL, engineer, Marshfield [Wood County, Wisconsin], was born 01 February 1833 in Canada . In 1834 his father moved to Clarence Hollow, Erie County, New York, where they lived until 1845, when they removed to Westfield, Chautauqua County, New York, then to Milton, Rock County, [Territory or State of?] Wisconsin, in 1848 [Wisconsin became a State 29 May 1848]; lived there three years, then moved to Dakota, Waushara County [Wisconsin]. At the age of twenty-three he learned engineering. He has followed this business at Madison [Dane County] and Milwaukee [Milwaukee County]. In 1877 he went to farming in Clark County [Wisconsin], which he followed for four years, and in the fall of 1880 he came to Marshfield as engineer for Upham & Brothers. On 02 April 1858 John H. RUSSELL was married to Miss Mary Ann REIFSNIDER. They [John H. and Mary Ann (REIFSNIDER) RUSSELL] have seven children: Fred, Mary, John, Hilda, Jessie, Vincie and Neva. Submitted by Cathy Kubly
