WI BIO - Winnebago Co - SHERRY, Henry History of Northern Wisconsin. Chicago: Western Historical, 1881, v II, p 1178 Henry SHERRY, lumberman, [Neenah, Winnebago County, Wisconsin], was born 03 August 1837 in Monroe County, New York. In 1846 he came with his parents to Columbus, Columbia County, [Territory of] Wisconsin, and lived there until 1849. [Wisconsin became a State 29 May 1848.] They then removed to Neenah [Winnebago County, Wisconsin], where he has since resided. In 1861 he [Henry SHERRY] engaged in mercantile business, which he continued for several years. Since 1868 he [Henry SHERRY] has been engaged in lumbering, being an extensive dealer in pine lands and logs; also running saw mills at Oshkosh [Winnebago County, Wisconsin] and Marshfield [Wood County, Wisconsin]. He stocks the mills with his own logs, cutting this year [1881] seven million feet of lumber at Oshkosh and five million feet at Marshfield. Last winter [1880] he got out twenty-five million feet of logs. On 02 May 1865 at Neenah [Winnebago County, Wisconsin], Mr. [Henry] SHERRY was married to [Miss?] Abbie PADDOCK, who was born in Troy [Rensselaer County], New York. They [Henry and Abbie SHERRY] have one child, Eddie. Mr. SHERRY's logging operations will be quite as extensive the present season. His real estate operations are quite large outside of pine lands.
