WI BIO - Winnebago Co - SCOTT, George F. History of Northern Wisconsin. Chicago: Western Historical, 1881, v II, p 1163 George F. SCOTT, mill foreman, was born in 1842 in Washington County, Maine. He followed the business of milling, filing, etc., up to 1862, when he enlisted in Company F, Twenty-second Regiment Maine Volunteers. In 1863 he was mustered out, and then went into the Twenty-fifth Maine as a member of the brigade band. On 16 November 1858 in Washington County, Maine, Mr. [George F.] SCOTT was married to Miss Ida A. KNIGHT, of Washington County [Maine]. They [George F. and Ida A. (KNIGHT) SCOTT] have three children living: Mary, Frank F., and John C. In 1864 Mr. SCOTT came to Wisconsin, located in Oshkosh [Winnebago County], and since then has been foreman of a mill.
