WI BIO - Winnebago Co - SCHROTTKY, Hugo History of Northern Wisconsin. Chicago: Western Historical, 1881, v II, p 1163 Hugo SCHROTTKY, engineer with G. W. Pratt [in Oshkosh, Winnebago County, Wisconsin], was born in 1841 in Prussia. He learned engineering and millwrighting in Prussia, came to the United States in 1860, and located in New York City. Mr. SCHROTTKY enlisted 08 May 1861 in Company F, Twentieth New York State Volunteer Infantry, and was mustered out in 1863. He came to Wisconsin in 1864, and located in Ripon [Fond du Lac County]. He engaged in engineering. In February 1880 he moved to Oshkosh [Winnebago County, Wisconsin], followed millwrighting for a time, and engaged in his present position [engineer] in 1881. In 1864 in Milwaukee [Milwaukee County, Wisconsin] he [Hugo SCHROTTKY] was married to Miss Louisa LIEBER of Milwaukee. They [Hugo Louisa (LIEBER) SCHROTTKY] have six children: Annie, Ellen, Henry, Louisa, Bertha, and Arthur . Mr. SCHROTTKY is a member of the Grand Army of the Republic, of Ripon [Fond du Lac County, Wisconsin]. Submitted by Cathy Kubly
