WI BIO - Winnebago Co - RIPSOM, William M. History of Northern Wisconsin. Chicago: Western Historical, 1881, vol II, p 1161 William M. RIPSOM, engaged in the manufacture of shafts for carriages in Parsons & Goodfellow's carriage works, was born 26 September 1833 in Monroe County, New York. He served his apprenticeship in New York State, where he lived until 1861, then settled in Marshall, Dane County, Wisconsin, and followed his trade until 1871, when he moved to Clarksville, Butler County, Iowa, and engaged in the carriage business. He remained there until 1873, and then moved to Oshkosh [Winnebago County], Wisconsin. He worked at his trade for different parties until February 1878, then began as above stated. On 03 April 1861 in Orleans County, New York, William M. RIPSOM was married to Miss Charlotte C. NICHOLS, who was born 25 December 1842 in Orleans County, New York. They [William M. and Charlotte C.
