Burlington: Ullery Publishing Company, 1912, p 256 Andrew MACLEAN, manufacturing baker, White River Junction [Windsor County, Vermont], was born in September 1869 at Inverness, Scotland, son of John and Annie (RICH) MACLEAN. He was educated in the schools of Huntley, Aberdeenshire, Scotland, and learned the baker's trade in Scotland. In 1887 Mr. MACLEAN came to America. He remained in New York one year, and was employed for nine years in Boston [Suffolk County], Massachusetts, as a journeyman baker. He came to White River Junction in 1897, and in 1898 became an original partner in the Vermont Baking Company, now among the largest concerns of its kind in northern New England. Republican; active in the affairs of his home town. Congregationalist. Member of Myrtle Lodge of Independent Order of Odd Fellows, and White River Encampment, both of White River Junction.
