Windsor LYMAN, Charles A. Men of Vermont: Illustrated Biographical History of Vermonters & Sons of Vermont. Ullery. LYMAN, of Royalton, was born 21 October 1831 in Royalton [Windsor County, Vermont], son of Jabez and Abigail (WOODBURY) LYMAN, and has always been a resident of that town. He received the customary common school education in Royalton. Has chiefly followed farming, but has also practiced the trade of carpenter and given much attention to the manufacture of lumber. Has been entrusted with many responsible positions, among which may be mentioned selectman, overseer, lister, auditor, and trustee of the surplus revenue fund. He has always discharged these duties with honor to himself and profit to his fellow citizens. In 1892 was elected by a strong Republican majority to represent the town of Royalton in the General Assembly, where his energetic action in behalf of his constituents merited the approbation of those who had entrusted him with that position. On 08 March 1854 Mr. [Charles A.] LYMAN was united in wedlock to Hannah W., daughter of Horatio and Sarah (WALCOTT) FREEMAN. Four children were born to them, of whom only one (Mrs. Nellie M. DOYLE) is now surviving. On 05 July 1866 he contracted a second alliance with Laura J., daughter of William and Elizabeth (WALCOTT) FAY. Four children were the issue of this second marriage, three of whom are now living: Albert F., Ida C., and Elizabeth W. Submitted by Cathy Kubly
