Educated at Woodstock High School, University of Vermont, degree A. B. 1880, M. D. 1883; and at the New York Post Graduate Medical School, 1884. Has practiced medicine in Woodstock since graduation. Republican; represented Woodstock in the state Legislature in 1906; senator from Windsor County, Vermont, in 1908. Was appointed a member and Treasurer of the State Board of Health in 1906 for a term of six years. Member of the Christian Church. Chairman of the Windsor County Young Men's Christian Committee. Charter member, Quechee River Lodge No. 46, Independent Order of Odd Fellows, and was noble grand in 1903. Member of Mount Tom Encampment; Canton Woodstock; and surgeon Patriarchs Militant of Vermont. Member Vermont Medical Society, White River Medical Society (president 1909), Windsor County Medical Society (president 1908-1909), the American Medical Association, American Academy of Medicine, and the American Public Health Association. Director of Woodstock Aqueduct Company, the Woodstock Electric Company, and Woodstock Ice Supply Company. In 1893 Dr. Fred Thomas KIDDER married [Miss?] Ellen S.
