Burlington: Ullery Publishing Company, 1912, p 227 Leslie Wilson HOWARD, wholesale druggist, White River Junction [Windsor County, Vermont], was born 03 October 1857 at Perkinsville [Windsor County, Vermont], son of Sylvander V. and Sarah (WILSON) HOWARD. Educated in the schools of Plattsburg [Clinton County], New York. Began his business career as clerk in a store in Plattsburg, New York. Was employed as bookkeeper in a store in New York City, and later as paymaster for a business interest at Bridgeport [Fairfield County], Connecticut. Was for several years with A. W. Gray's Sons of Middletown Springs [Rutland County, Vermont]. In 1895 he formed the Howard Drug Company in White River Junction. In 1910 he took his son, Leslie Wilson HOWARD, Jr., into the company. Leslie W. HOWARD, Sr. is a Republican, and in religious belief a Congregationalist. Member of United Brethren Lodge, Free & Accepted Masons, of White River Junction. In 1885 [Leslie Wilson HOWARD, Sr.] married [Miss?] Addie C. NORTON, of Middletown Springs [Rutland County, Vermont]; they have two sons: McKay S., a graduate of Dartmouth and Yale, and Leslie Wilson, Jr., a graduate of Cushing Academy and Columbia University.
