Charles Frank GOING, hotel man, White River Junction [Windsor County, 
Vermont], was born 31 December 1848 in Lowell [Middlesex County], 
Massachusetts, son of Charles and Hannah (RUSSELL) GOING. Educated in the 
public schools of Lowell. Has been proprietor, at different periods, of the 
American House, Lowell, Massachusetts; Fort Point House, Stockton [Waldo 
County], Maine; Nanepashemet House, Marbelhead Neck, Marblehead [Essex 
County], Massachusetts; Adelaide Street skating rink, Toronto, Canada; and 
manager, Lakeview Park, Lowell, Massachusetts; and has been clerk at the 
Junction House, White River Junction, since 1899. Republican; city manager, 
Lowell, Massachusetts, three years. Episcopalian. Charter member and one of 
the first board of directors of the Vesper Boat Club, Lowell, Massachusetts. 
In 1877 he [Charles Frank GOING] married [Miss?] Catherine STURTEVANT of New 
Bedford [Bristol County], Massachusetts; she [Catherine GOING] died in 1884 
at Toronto [Province of Ontario], Canada; they had two children: Ella A., 
deceased; and Russell S. In 1892 Mr. [Charles Frank] GOING married [Miss?] 
Edith M. WHITCOMB of Lowell [Middlesex County], Massachusetts; they have two 
children: Gladys W., and Derby L.
