Burlington: Ullery Publishing Company, 1912, p 199 Lyman Alonzo GIBBS, hotel keeper, White River Junction [Windsor County, Vermont], was born 30 January 1858 in Brandon [Rutland County, Vermont], son of Alonzo and Martha Elizabeth (WINSLOW) GIBBS. At an early age he removed with his parents to Woodstock [Windsor County, Vermont], and later to West Lebanon [Grafton County], New Hampshire, where he was educated in the village schools. Conducted a meat market at West Lebanon, New Hampshire; later removed to White River Junction, where he established a livery business which was later merged into that of the Junction House. Is a member of the firm of Gibbs & Wheeler, proprietors of the Junction House. Was for two years selectman and overseer of the poor for the town of Hartford [Windsor County, Vermont]. Congregationalist. Charter member of Myrtle Lodge, Independent Order of Odd Fellows, and member of the Iroquois Club of White River Junction.
