Educated at Randolph graded school; spent freshman year at Dartmouth College; graduated at the Detroit Training School of Elocution and English Literature. Has conducted a general merchandise store in Stockbridge since 1900. Republican; appointed postmaster 08 November 1902; served as town superintendent of schools four years. Member of Rural Lodge No. 29, Free & Accepted Masons, of Rochester [Windsor County, Vermont].
