He received his education in the schools of Lyme [Grafton County] and Claremont [Sullivan County], New Hampshire. He began the marble business at Lyme, New Hampshire, and in 1895 removed to White River Junction and established the marble and granite business which he still conducts. Republican. Universalist. Member of United Brethren Lodge, Free & Accepted Masons, Cascadnac Chapter, Royal Arch Masons, Vermont Commandery, Knights Templar; past grand Myrtle Lodge, Independent Order of Odd Fellows; and a member of Fidelity Rebekah Lodge.
