Joseph and Catharine (WIER) ENRIGHT. In the 1880 Census of Alburgh, Grand Isle County, Vermont, is the family of one Joseph ENRIGHT whose occupation is Methodist preacher, age sixty one, born in Ireland, about 1819 by his census age, to parents who were also born in Ireland. This Joseph is enumerated with his wife, Hannah E., age forty-five, born in Vermont, about 1835, her parents also born in Vermont; and two his children: Mary E., age seven, born in Vermont, about 1873; and George C., age four, born in Vermont, about 1876. ENRIGHT, age twenty-seven, single, law student, born in Vermont, about 1853 by his census age, to a father born in Ireland and a mother born in Canada.] In 1879 appointed superintendent of schools in Hartland [Windsor County]; subsequently served in the same capacity in the town of Windsor, where he has been selectman since 1891; in 1890 elected to represent Windsor in the General Assembly, and served as chairman of the state's prison committee; again called to the same body in 1892, and in that session was chairman of the committee on claims; in 1893 chosen school director for three years. Member of Masonic order, has taken 32nd degree; has served as secretary and warden of Vermont Lodge No. 18, recorder of Vermont Commandery No. 4, and secretary of Vermont Lodge of Perfection. On 23 July 1882 at Brompton, Province of Quebec [Canada] he [Joseph Cornelius ENRIGHT] was married to Clara J., daughter of Amos and Matilda (ALGER) VARNEY.
