Burlington: Ullery Publishing Company, 1912, pp 180-181 David Adams ELLIOTT, merchant, White River Junction [Windsor County, Vermont], was born 30 August 1864 at Roxham, Province of Quebec [Canada], son of Thomas and Nancy (ADAMS) ELLIOTT. Educated in the public schools of Roxham. He lived on a farm until twenty-four years of age. He worked in the offices of the Central Vermont Railway Company for two years, and was physical director in a gymnasium two years. He was also employed as clerk in hardware stores in St. Albans [Franklin County, Vermont] and Brattleboro [Windham County, Vermont] for a number of years. Since 01 April 1904 he has been proprietor of a hardware store at White River Junction. Republican; member of Republican committee, town of Hartford [Windsor County], 1908-1910; represented Hartford in the Legislature, 1910, with assignments on the committees on appropriations, manufactures, joint committee on temperance, and special committee on the Austine Institution. In 1900 Mr. [David Adams] ELLIOTT married [Miss?] Helen Mary PRENTISS of St. Albans [Franklin County, Vermont]. The religious preference of Mr. ELLIOTT is Protestant Episcopal. He is a member of United Brethren Lodge No. 21, Free & Accepted Masons (secretary); Cascadnac Chapter No. 27, Royal Arch Masons; Windsor Council No. 8, Royal & Select Masons (past thrice illustrious master); Vermont Commandery No. 4, Knights Templar (past generalissimo); Windsor Lodge of Perfection, Ancient and Accepted Scottish Rite (thrice potent master); J. W. Roby Council, Princes of Jerusalem; Delta Chapter of Rose Croix; Vermont Consistory, 32nd degree; Red Cross of Constantine; Mt. Sinai Temple, A. A. O. N. M. S.
