Edward Cushing DANA, editor and publisher, Woodstock, was born 23 January 1863 at Woodstock [Windsor County, Vermont], son of Charles and Charitie (LOOMIS) DANA. Educated at Woodstock High School; learned the printer's trade in Woodstock. In 1887 he went to Colorado, and worked at newspaper work at in that state at Glenwood Springs [Garfield County], Aspen [Pitkin County], and for two and a half years in Denver [Denver County]. Returned to Woodstock in 1894 and bought the "Spirit of the Age." Independent Democrat. Belongs to the Woodstock Country Club. Biography of Harold Swan DANA (brother of Edward C.) Harold Swan DANA, insurance, Woodstock, was born 27 September 1854 at Woodstock on, son of Charles and Charity Scott (LOOMIS) DANA. Educated at the public schools. Was clerk in his father's store for sixteen years, continuing in that business for several years after his father's death. Engaged in general insurance business in 1896, in which he continues to date. Republican; has been village treasurer for twelve years, also town auditor. Congregationalist. Member of the County Club and Young Mens Christian Association. On 01 June 1892 Harold Swan DANA married [Miss?] Lydia M. FRENCH of Woodstock. They have an adopted daughter, Caroline Brown DANA.
