Biography of Byron Leslie BOGLE - pp 123-124 (brother of Clarence Clinton 
BOGLE)

Byron Leslie BOGLE, wholesale jewelry merchant, White River Junction [Windsor 
County, Vermont], was born 09 June 1863 at West Dover [Windham County, 
Vermont], son of Moses Johnson and Fidelia (LEONARD) BOGLE. Educated in the 
public schools of his native town, and Leland and Gray Seminary, Townshend 
[Windham County]. In 1883 entered the employ of his brother, Clarence C. 
BOGLE, then in the wholesale jewelry business in West Lebanon [Grafton 
County], New Hampshire; in 1844 the business was moved to White River 
Junction, Mr. BOGLE continuing with his brother as bookkeeper and manager of 
the store; in 1889 they formed the firm of Bogle Brothers, now one of the 
largest and most widely known jewelry houses in New England.

In 1884 he [Byron Leslie BOGLE] married [Miss?] Flora Isadore THYNG of 
Stoddard [Cheshire County], New Hampshire; they have one son, Ernest Paul. 
Mr. BOGLE is a Republican. Member of the Methodist Episcopal Church of White 
River Junction; steward and trustee of the church. Member of United Brethren 
Lodge, Free & Accepted Masons, and Cascadnac Chapter, Royal Arch Masons, of 
White River Junction; Vermont Commandery, Knights Templar, of Windsor; Mt. 
Sinai Temple, Mystic Shrine, Montpelier; Wenona Chapter, Order of Eastern 
Star; trustee, past grand, and past deputy grand master Myrtle Lodge, 
Independent Order of Odd Fellows; past chief patriarch White River 
Encampment; member of Rebekahs; Iroquois Club of White River Junction, and 
Automobile Club of Vermont.


Biography of Clarence Clinton BOGLE - p 124 (brother of Byron Leslie BOGLE)

Clarence Clinton BOGLE, wholesale jeweler, White River Junction [Windsor 
County, Vermont], was born 28 February 1852 at West Dover [Windham County, 
Vermont], son of Moses J. and Fidelia (LEONARD) BOGLE. Educated in the 
schools of West Dover, Wilmington [Windham County, Vermont]; the Methodist 
Seminary, Montpelier [Washington County, Vermont], and Powers Institute, 
Bernardston [Franklin County], Massachusetts. Was a public school teacher; 
began business life as a clerk in a West Dover store, and was for several 
years traveling salesman. In 1881 began his present wholesale jewelry 
business by driving a team, carrying goods which he sold in retail stores. 
Later formed partnership with his brother, Byron Leslie, and a store was 
opened at White River Junction, continuing to date. Trustee of 
Congregational Church for several years. In 1875 he [Clarence Clinton BOGLE] 
married [Miss?] Sarah Emogene THYNG of Greensboro [Orleans County, Vermont]; 
they had four children: Edith Blanche, deceased; Lotta Bernice; Stanley 
Clinton, deceased; and Barbara Louise. [Was Sarah Emogene THYNG related to 
Flora Isadore THYNG, who married Clarence's brother, Byron? Bracketed
