John Caleb HOWE, Brattleboro [Windham County, Vermont], photographer, was 
born 16 May 1849 at Dover [Windham County, Vermont], son of Caleb Lysander 
and Martha Batchelder (SIMONDS) HOWE. Educated at Brattleboro High School. 
Has been a photographer at Brattleboro since 1868. Republican. 
Congregationalist. Member of Brattleboro Lodge No. 102, Free & Accepted 
Masons, a Knights Templar; member Mt. Sinai Temple, Mystic Shrine; Red Men, 
Vermont Wheel Club and Automobile Association. In 1872 [John Caleb HOWE] 
married [Miss?] Florence Juliet FISHER of Newfane [Windham County, Vermont]; 
they have an adopted daughter, Florence Juliet BOWEN, niece of Mrs. HOWE.
