Burlington: Ullery Publishing Company, 1912, p 214 Patrick HARTY, Saxtons River [Windham County, Vermont], wool business, was born 22 December 1846 in Cork, Ireland, son of Cornelius and Margaret (SAVAGE) HARTY. He was educated in Irish schools. In 1866 Mr. HARTY was employed by L. C. Hubbard in wool pulling; later with Barry & Scofield; and still later started a similar business for John GLAVIN at Albany [Albany County], New York. In 1894 Mr. HARTY started in the wool pulling business for himself. At present he is associated with his son, Patrick H. HARTY, in the wool and livestock business. Mr. HARTY is a Democrat, and a prominent member of St. Charles' Roman Catholic Church. Edward C. HARTY was with the firm until three years ago; he is now a buyer for S. A. Maxfield Wool Pulling Company, Bangor [Penobscot County], Maine. In 1866 Mr. [Patrick] HARTY married [Miss?] Bridget McNAMARRA of Walpole [Cheshire County], New Hampshire.
