Walter Angier GILBERT, associate editor, Brattleboro [Windham County, 
Vermont], was born 06 November 1872 in East Putney [Windham County, Vermont], 
son of James M. and Helen Frances (ANGIER) GILBERT. Educated at Brattleboro 
High School, class of 1891 and its president. From 1896 to 1906 was reporter 
for the "Vermont Phoenix," Brattleboro; 1906-1909 Brattleboro correspondent 
for several Vermont and Massachusetts daily papers; since 1909 associate 
editor of the "Vermont Phoenix." Republican. Member of Brattleboro Board of 
Trade. Congregationalist; member of Center Congregational Church and clerk 
of the Ecclesiastical Society of the same; has been identified with 
Brattleboro musical affairs. In 1895 he [Walter Angier GILBERT] married 
[Miss?] Helen Lena COBB, of Brattleboro; they have one son, Howard Cobb 
GILBERT.
