Burlington: Ullery Publishing Company, 1912, p 179 George Asa EELS, retired, Brattleboro [Windham County, Vermont], was born 10 November 1853 at Chesterfield [Cheshire County], New Hampshire, son of William B. and Almira (BOYDEN) EELS. Educated in the public schools. In 1882 Mr. EELS became a partner in the firm of C. H. Eddy & Company, manufacturers of extracts and carbonated beverages, continuing until 1907, when he became sole owner, doing business under the firm name of C. H. Eddy & Company until 1910, when he sold his interest and is now retired. Democrat. Member of the Vermont Wheel Club. Director of the Brattleboro Trust Company. In 1875 Mr. [George Asa] EELS married [Miss?] Jennie A. ABBOTT of Brattleboro [Windham County, Vermont]; they have three children: Lena Abbott, Grace Almira, and Alice Ada. Submitted by Cathy Kubly
