Educated in the common schools, at Vermont Academy, and a graduate of Eastman's Business College, Poughkeepsie [Dutchess County], New York. Republican; represented Rockingham in the Legislature 1908-1909. Was a member of the State Fair Commission 1909-1911, and a member of its executive committee 1910-1911. Congregationalist. Member of Independent Order of Odd Fellows, and the Grange.
