(REED) CLARK. Educated in the public schools. Came to Brattleboro in 1888 and engaged as clerk in Pullen Brothers grocery store, later changed to A. J. Pullen, and later Pullen & Whitney, and E. D. Whitney. As partner of J. Warren MILLER, succeeded Mr. WHITNEY in 1897, as Clark & Miller in 1899 purchased Mr. MILLER's interest, since conducting business alone, and with no change of location during the twenty-three years.
