EUGENE WIGGENHORN, manufacturer of cigars; was born in Prussia May 12, 1837, and came to Wisconsin in October, 1848; from Prussia he went to New York City, and shortly after moved with this father to Watertown, where he assisted his father in the hotel business, after which he served an apprenticeship in the cigar business, and then went as clerk in the dry-goods business; he next bought out his father’s interest in the Buena Vista Hotel, and continued this until 1863; in 1858, he also started the manufacture of cigars on his own account, until the admission of his brother, when the manufactory was carried on under the firm name of Wiggenhorn Brothers, which firm is now doing a successful and profitable business. In 1873-74, he was Alderman of the First Ward; in 1876, he was elected President of the Watertown Fire Department; in 1879, he was elected School Commissioner.
