WENDTLAND, house, sign and ornamental painter; born in Prussia Jan. 11, 1846; came to America with his parents in 1855; commenced to learn painter’s trade in October, 1867; commenced business for himself in March, 1876; prior to that time, employed by the C., M & St. P. R. R. Co. He was married, Nov. 19, 1870, to Augusta Nilmann; she was born in Germany; they have four children – Eliza, George, Emma and Charles. Mr. Wendtland is Vice President of the Sons of Hermann; also holds same position in the Turner Society, and his is District Deputy of the Harugari Order.
