Co.; born in Conesus, N. Y., May 31, 1852; son of Sailor P. Webb, a lawyer, who came to Watertown with his family in 1854; he died here in 1861. George W. Webb was employed as a clerk in mercantile business here for about three years; afterward for over two years in Milwaukee; he then went to Eldora, Iowa, engaged in agricultural implement business there for two years; then he returned to Watertown and learned the telegraph business in 1875; he was located one year in La Crosse as operator; then returned to Watertown, and has remained here ever since.
