Burlington: Ullery Publishing Company, 1912, p 197 Fred P. GALE, Plainfield, physician, was born 05 May 1853 at Plainfield [Washington County, Vermont], son of S. B. and Mary (BAILEY) GALE. Educated in the public schools, Barre Academy [Washington County], and University of Vermont, medical department. Dr. GALE practiced medicine in Cabot [Washington County, Vermont] previous to 1889. From 1889 to 1897 he practiced in Fort Payne [DeKalb County], Alabama. Since 1897 Dr. GALE has engaged in practice in Plainfield. Republican; superintendent of schools in Cabot and Plainfield for a number of years; health officer in Plainfield. Dr. GALE is a past master of Green Mountain Lodge No. 68, Free & Accepted Masons, of Cabot. In 1886 he [Dr. Maurice Alfred GALE] married [Miss?] Mary NEVENS of Cabot [Washington County, Vermont]; they have one daughter, Ella Webster GALE, of Tacoma [Pierce County] Washington.
