JOHN VERGENZ, deceased; born March 9, 1804, in Prussia; came to 
America in 1852, and settled in Watertown Township, Jefferson Co.; 
bought 240 acres of land in May of that year.  Married Miss Henrietta 
Dencer, of Prussia, Feb. 21, 1825.  He died Nov. 14, 1865, leaving four 
children – John, Martin, Frederick and Augusta.  The real estate was 
divided among the three boys.
