AUGUST TOELKE, engaged in general merchandising; was born in 
Germany in 1834, and settled in Watertown July 7, 1851, in which city 
he has since been constantly engaged in his present business, that has 
grown in the mean time to huge proportions.  He is known throughout 
the county as a capable, honorable business man, and deserving the 
confidence and respect he everywhere enjoys.
