CHARLES THOMPSON, blacksmith, Oak Hill; born in Dorsetshire, Eng., Feb. 14, 1842; came to America in 1855, locating in Wilmot, Kenosha Co., Wis., where he learned his trade; after eight years, he removed to Ottawa, Jefferson Co.; settled in Oak Hill in 1866, where he has since done a successful business. He married Miss Mary Crerar Jan. 1, 1867. Mr. Thompson is a Republican; is liberal in religion. He has a pleasant home in the village and owns 209 acres of land in Sullivan and Palmyra.
