WI BIO - Taylor Co - ROY, Leon History of Northern Wisconsin. Chicago: Western Historical, 1881, vol II, p 1031 Leon ROY, lumberman, Chelsea [Taylor County, Wisconsin; on the railroad line north of Medford], was born 04 June 1853 in Quebec, Canada. In 1870 he went to Detroit [Wayne County], Michigan, then to Minnesota, and finally to Portage County, Wisconsin. He belonged to a surveying party and located in Chelsea [Taylor County], opening a grocery store there, and after a while began lumbering.
