JAMES SHERMAN, joint proprietor of broom-factory, Jefferson; was born in Genesee Co., N.Y., Aug. 28, 1829; came to Little Prairie, Walworth Co., Wis., in 1848, and settled on a farm there, where he lived till coming to Jefferson in 1877; in 1878, in company with Mr. Gifford, he established the present factory.
