WI BIO - Sheboygan Co - WOLF, Louis History of Northern Wisconsin. Chicago: Western Historical, 1881, vol II, p 1006 Louis WOLF, boots and shoes, Sheboygan Falls, Sheboygan County, Wisconsin, was born in 1825 in Germany. He came to America in 1837 and resided at Utica [Oneida County], New York, for eleven years, where he learned the trade of shoemaker and was employed at it some years. He came to Wisconsin in 1848, and located at Sheboygan. He was engaged in the boot and shoe business and continued up to spring of 1851. He then came to Sheboygan Falls and commenced his present business in April 1851, and has carried it on since then. In 1845 at Utica [Oneida County], New York, Louis WOLF married Augusta KAESTNER [a maiden name?], who was born in Germany. They [Louis and Augusta WOLF] have five children: Barbara, William, Christinia, Lissette and Louis. Mr. WOLF was a member of the Assembly at Madison for the Second District of Sheboygan County for the years 1864, 1874, and 1876, and he represented the Twentieth District of Wisconsin in the Senate at Madison for 1878 and 1879.
