Chicago: Western Historical, 1881, vol II, p 999 Biography of Jacob Henry WOLFF (father of Louis) Jacob Henry WOLFF, foreman of the machine department of Sheboygan Manufacturing Company, Sheboygan [Sheboygan County, Wisconsin], was born in Germany in 1833. He learned the trade of cabinet maker and was employed at it for some years. He came to America in 1856, and resided in New York for four years, where he was employed as a cabinet maker. Mr. WOLFF came to Wisconsin in 1856. He located in Sheboygan County and was engaged as a carpenter and millwright for twelve years, and was employed for four years in the same business in Manitowoc County, Wisconsin. Mr. WOLFF came to the City of Sheboygan in October 1871, and has since been engaged in his present capacity. On 19 September 1855 at New York, Jacob Henry WOLFF married Kate PUSCH [a maiden name?], who was born in Germany. [Note that Mr. WOLFF is said to have come to America in 1856, but was married in New York in 1855, suggesting one of these dates is incorrect.] They [Jacob Henry and Kate WOLFF] have five children: Mary, now Mrs. Van Schwent SKOFSKI; Louis, Henry, Lizzie and William W. Biography of Louis WOLFF (son of Jacob Henry) Louis WOLFF, foreman of the binding department, Sheboygan Manufacturing Company, Sheboygan, was born 19 October 1859 in Herman, Sheboygan County, Wisconsin, and is the eldest son of Jacob H. WOLFF, also in the employ of the Sheboygan Manufacturing Company. Louis WOLFF resided with his parents up to October 1871, when he came with them to the City of Sheboygan. In 1874 he commenced with the Sheboygan Manufacturing Company. He had been employed for six years with his father in a carpenter shop.
