RUNGE, surgeon dentist, city of Sheboygan, Sheboygan County, Wisconsin, was born 01 March 1855 at Manitowoc Rapids [Manitowoc County], Wisconsin, a son of J. F. RUNGE, formerly of Manitowoc Rapids, who settled in that place in 1848. He [Frederick C. RUNGE] went to Milwaukee [Milwaukee County, Wisconsin] in 1869, and was engaged on steamboats on the lakes in various capacities for three years, and employed in various other positions up to January 1878, when he commenced the study of dentistry with Prof. C. KOHN. He [Mr. RUNGE] continued in that capacity for fourteen months, and afterward practiced for a few months. On 06 Oct 1877 at Manitowoc Rapids [Manitowoc County], Wisconsin, he [Frederick C. RUNGE] was married to [Miss?] Christina HINTZE. They [Frederick C. and Christina RUNGE] have two children: Frederick and Walter. Mr. [Frederick C.] RUNGE came to the city of Sheboygan in December 1879, where he has since engaged in practicing dentistry. Submitted by Cathy Kubly
