WI BIO - Sheboygan Co - ROEDER, Theodore History of Northern Wisconsin. Chicago: Western Historical, 1881, vol II, p 996 Theodore ROEDER, of Luecke & Roeder, masons and builders, Sheboygan [Sheboygan County, Wisconsin], was born in 1827 in Germany. He learned the trade of mason, and was employed at it some years. He came to America in 1856, and was in Livingston County, Michigan, engaged in farming for about a year. He came to Wisconsin in 1857, and located at Sheboygan. Theodore ROEDER was employed as a mason for six years, then commenced his present business in company with William LUECKE. They were subcontractors for the [Sheboygan] County Court House, which was built in 1868. They built the poor house in 1877, and most of the prominent business and private buildings in the city. They are now building the County Insane Asylum, and a large business building for Fred KOEHN, merchant. In 1856 at Decola [?], Michigan he [Theodore ROEDER] was married to [Miss?] Mary PROSSOW, who was born in Germany. They [Theodore and Mary ROEDER] have six children: Armena, Lena, Mary, Henry, William, and Annie. Mr. ROEDER was City Treasurer [of Sheboygan] for two years, 1873 and 1874, and was Alderman of the First Ward for three terms. Submitted by Cathy Kubly
