AUGUST SEIFFERT, contractor and builder; was born in the Kingdom 
of Prussia Oct. 24, 1840; in 1869, he emigrated to America and settled in 
Chicago, where he was engaged as a contractor and builder, prominently 
identified with the erection of some of the elegant structures to be seen 
in that city; after a residence of eight years in the Garden City, he 
removed to Watertown, where he has been extensively engaged in 
building, etc., having been the contractor for the erection of Turner Hall 
and other structures, and being at the present time City Surveyor and 
Engineer.  April 29, 1866, he was married to Wilhelmina Puthar, also a 
native of Prussia, the ceremony being performed in Germany, by whom 
he has had three children - Anna, Lizzie and Richard.
