Burlington: Ullery Publishing Company, 1912, p 250 Charles Edward LITTLE, postmaster, Fair Haven [Vermont], was born 05 March 1868 at Fair Haven [Rutland County, Vermont], son of Edwin and Mary Ann (JORDAN) LITTLE. Educated at Fair Haven High School. Was employed in the grocery store of Josiah PECK from 1887 to 1896. Upon the death of Mr. [Josiah] PECK in 1896, he became manager of the business until July 1897, when in company with William H. FOLEY he purchased the business, continuing the same until 1903. Was appointed Assistant Postmaster in 1906, and on the death of postmaster H. OWEN in Oct 1909, was appointed Postmaster by President TAFT, continuing to date. Republican. Was town lister from 1904 to 1906. Methodist; a member of the official board of the church and the Sunday school board. Past master of Eureka Lodge No. 75, Free & Accepted Masons; past high priest of Eureka Chapter No. 30, Royal Arch Masons; member of Killington Commandery No. 6, of Rutland; Cairo Temple, Mystic Shrine, of Rutland; Prospect Grange; Masonic Association of Fair Haven. In 1892 he [Charles Edward LITTLE] married [Miss?] Ellen Ann JONES of Fair Haven [Rutland County, Vermont], who died in 1908; they had two sons, Charles Russell and Franklin Irving.
