(ROBERTS) KINGSLEY. Educated in Rutland public schools; Morse's School, New York City; Columbia College, A. B. 1893; and Columbia College Law School, LL. B. 1896. Was deputy assistant district attorney, New York City, 1897, under Colonel Asa Bird GARDNER. Has practiced law in Rutland since 1899. Republican; has been a member and chairman of the Republican city committee since 1900. Was grand juror, City of Rutland, in 1901, and from 1904 to 1910. Has been school commissioner since 1904, and was chairman in 1909. Was secretary of civil and military affairs from 1910 to 1912 under Governor John A. MEAD. Member of the Protestant Episcopal Church. Past member of Center Lodge No. 34, Free & Accepted Masons; Treasurer of Davenport Chapter No. 17, Royal Arch Masons; member of Davenport Council No. 12, Royal & Select Masons; past commander of Killington Commandery No. 6, Knights Templar; member of Cairo Temple, Ancient Arabic Order of the Nobles of Mystic Shrine; Vermont Consistory, Scottish Rite; Loyal Legion; Sons of the American Revolution; Society of Colonial Wars; Descendants of Colonial Governors; and Sons of the Revolution.
