Educated in the public schools of Brandon. The subject is now, and has been for the past twenty years, trustee of estates aggregating about $200,000; is vice president of Rutland Savings Bank; director of Brandon National Bank, Proctor Trust Company, and the National Bank of Vergennes; president Brandon Investment and Guarantee Company; vice president for Vermont of American Bankers Association 1912; treasurer Brandon Cemetery Association; treasurer Vermont State Agricultural Society; vice president of Brandon Free Public Library; and president of Vermont State Bankers' Association. Republican; represented Brandon in the Legislature 1888; senator from Rutland County 1896; chairman of the board of cattle commissioners 1887-1890; member of the commission appointed by Governor PROUTY to revise the banking laws of the state.
