Educated at Brandon Seminary, 1861-1868; graduated from Columbus High School [Franklin County], Ohio, 1870, with first honors; was fellow at the University of Chicago in 1911. Teacher and principal of high school at Columbus [Franklin County], Ohio from 1871 to 1881. Admitted to the Illinois bar in 1882. Attorney 1882-1891; partner N. W. Harris & Company, bankers, Chicago, New York, and Boston, 1891. Director Harris Safe Deposit Company, Chicago, since 1909; Harris, Forbes & Company, New York, since 1911; N. W. Harris & Company, incorporated, Boston, since 1911; director and member executive committee Michigan State Telephone Company 1904-1906; director Terre Haute Water Works Company [Vigo County], Indiana; trustee Ripon College [Fond du Lac County], Wisconsin, since 1897, and treasurer of same 1907-1910. Independent Republican. Member Union League, Mid-Day, Quadrangle, Chicago Literary, and South Shore Country Clubs of Chicago; member League of American Wheelmen; Cyclists Touring Club of England; delegate at Chicago of Touring Club de France. Residence at 5757 Lexington Avenue, Chicago; office in Harris Trust Building, Chicago; summer home at Brandon [Vermont]. In 1873 he [Albert George FARR] married [Miss?] Alice PARKHURST of Berlin [Green Lake County], Wisconsin; she [Alice FARR] died in 1888; they had one child, Shirley.
