Burlington: Ullery Publishing Company, 1912, p 180 William Henry ELDRIDGE, merchant, Twin Falls, Twin Falls County, Idaho, was born 23 July 1873 at East Middlebury, Addison County, Vermont, son of George Henry and Eliza Ann (JUDGE) ELDRIDGE. Graduated from Middlebury High School 1891, and Middlebury College, A. B., 1895. Entered the employ of the Vermont Marble Company, Proctor [Rutland County, Vermont], in 1896; was bookkeeper there and at their branch office in New York City until September 1898, when he was elected treasurer of the Proctor Trust Company; held the position until October 1905, when he was forced by ill health to move West; was village treasurer of Proctor, and the first President of the Proctor Young Mens Christian Association. He settled in Twin Falls [Twin Falls County], Idaho, in December 1905, and established the Eldridge Clothing Company on 01 April 1906. Was Secretary of the Board of Education 1908-1910; appointed by Governor HAWLEY a trustee of the State Normal School at Albion [Cassia County], Idaho; is vice president of the First National Bank of Twin Falls; president of the Merchants and Manufacturers Association; director of the Commericial Club, and a director of the "Old Settlers of Twin Falls County." Republican. Member of the Union Church of Proctor [Rutland County], Vermont. Member Delta Kappa Epsilon Fraternity; Knights of Pythias; Benevolent Protective Order of Elks; President of Twin Falls Society of Vermonters; member of New England Historic Genealogical Society; Society of Colonial Wars, and Sons of the American Revolution.
