William Ripley BLOSSOM, physician, Rutland [Rutland County, Vermont], was 
born 18 April 1859 at Pittsfield [Rutland County, Vermont], son of Orvis G. 
and Emeline (SWAN) BLOSSOM. Educated in the public schools, graduating at 
Kansas Medical College. Followed farming in Kansas for five years, then 
decorating and painting until he began the practice of medicine in 1898; has 
been in general practice since in Pittsford, Shrewsbury, and Rutland [all in 
Rutland County, Vermont]. Republican; represented Shrewsbury in the 
Legislature 1900. Methodist; member of the Masonic fraternity. In 1878 he 
[William Ripley BLOSSOM] married [Miss?] Josephine CRANE of South Cedar 
[Jackson County], Kansas. They have five children: Elsie C., Ethel C., 
Frank O., Fay E., and Wilma J.
