Educated at Plattsburg, New York, high school, and University of the City of New York, graduating in medicine and surgery 1879. In early life engaged in school teaching; practiced medicine in Hartford [Washington County], New York, about eleven years, and twenty-one years in Brandon; during residence in Hartford, New York, was president of Washington County Medical Society. In 1878 Orville Clark BAKER married [Miss?] Frances M. BUCK of Plattsburg [then spelled Plattsburgh, Clinton County], New York; they have four children: Eva F., Arthur J., Horatio O., and Clarence M. Mr. BAKER is a Republican; was supervisor of the town of Hartford, New York; member of the board of education, Brandon; chairman of board four years; at present superintendent of schools, Brandon. Member of the Methodist Church; church treasurer, steward, and trustee; member and one of the committee of Addison County Y. M. C. A. Past master of St. Paul's Lodge No. 25, Free & Accepted Masons; past district deputy grand master of 4th masonic district; past district deputy grand high priest, Royal Arch Masons; past grand master of the Grand Council, Royal & Select Masons, of Vermont; member of Mt.
