REED, farmer and manufacturer, Palmyra; born in Somersetshire, England, in 1841; the early part of his life was spent in England; came to America in 1859, locating in Canada; removed to Walworth Co., Wis., where he engaged in farming; thence to Sullivan, Jefferson Co., where he owned a saw-mill. Mr. Reed settled in Palmyra in 1874, where he engaged in manufacturing. He is a Republican in politics, and has served as Supervisor of the village, and was elected Chairman of the Town Board in 1879. Married Miss Esther Northey in 1860; they have five children – Lottie E., Clara N., Albert J., Alice M. and Emery.
