Jackson Co., Mich., Aug. 5, 1846; came to Wisconsin in March, 1865, 
and located on his present homestead.  Married, Nov. 6, 1868, Daphne 
Ellis, daughter of John Ellis, of Jefferson Co.; have two children – 
Winnifred, born Sept. 25, 1876; Ray, born April 5, 1878.  Member of 
Farmers’ Association; liberal in religion; Republican.
