Cambridge, Dane Co.; born in Rhode Island, November, 1816, where he passed his early life and received a common-school education; in 1844, came to Wisconsin and located in Walworth County, engaging at farming till the summer of 1846, when he bought his present homestead in Oakland Township, consisting of eighty acres; owns in all 189 acres; raises the general products of the county and makes stock-raising a specialty.
