FRED POHLMANN, manufacturer of and dealer in boots and shoes; born in Mecklenburg, Germany, July 26, 1845; worked at the shoemaker’s trade since 1861; commenced business for himself in 1870. He was married in Watertown, Jan. 17, 1874, to Elizabeth Piper, daughter of Phillip Piper; she was born in Watertown; they have two children – Henry and Arthur. Mr. Pohlmann is a member of the Watertown Band; he is a son of John Pohlmann, who came here with his family July 10, 1853. John Pohlmann died April 10, 1870.
