Ixonia Center; born in June, 1821, in Montgomeryshire, Wales; came to America in 1841, and first lived in Oneida Co., N.Y., where he worked in a starch-factory. In 1845, he visited Wisconsin, and bought eighty acres of land in Ixonia Township, Jefferson Co. In 1846, moved here, and, in 1847, built a log house; erected his present residence in 1861. He now owns 160 acres of land. Married Miss Margaret Jones, of Carnarvonshire, Wales, March 9, 1846; they have two children - David, born Nov. 14, 1852; Anna, Sept. 23, 1854.
