Bernie B. GILBERT, hotel keeper, North Troy [Orleans County, Vermont], was 
born 14 November 1877 at Westfield [Orleans County, Vermont], son of Charles 
S. and Mandana (BROWN) GILBERT. Educated in the public schools. Clerk in 
the store of H. D. MILLER, Westfield, one year; in the Davol Rubber Company's 
factory, Providence [Providence County], Rhode Island, one year; in Annis & 
Company's store, Manchester [Hillsborough County], New Hampshire, three 
years; owned and operated stage line between Newport and Westfield [both in 
Orleans County] four years; in 1909 purchased the Frontier House, North Troy, 
which he has since conducted. Republican. Member of Union Lodge No. 16, 
Free & Accepted Masons, of Troy. In 1900 he [Bernie B. GILBERT] married 
[Miss?] Louise GOADE, of Montgomery ["Montgomery" is in Franklin County, 
Vermont; author may mean "Montgomery Center" in Orleans County]; they have 
one son, Charles Clayton.
